Theophany - η Βάπτισις του Χριστού

The ikon of Christ's baptism is also an ikon of the Holy Trinity. The Father is represented by the invisible apex of the ray of light descending from above (or sometimes by a hand), the Son is Chrfist Himself, and the Holy Spirit is depicted as the dove, as scripture recounts. Only in this single instance is the Holy Spirit ever depicted as a visible creature.
